The People of Nkamtcí'n

Nkamtci'n (Spences Bridge) was Coyote people territory in the published traditions.

In Teit's published traditions, the country along the Thompson River east of Lytton belonged to the Coyote people. They were described as especially numerous around Spences Bridge, known as Nkamtci'n.

The Nkamtci'nEmux — the people of Nkamtci'n — are referenced in the traditions. They say that NLi'ksEntEm, when he went to the upper world, was ignorant, but when he returned he was skilled and wise. They describe the Spider's underground lodge with a hole through which the people at Lytton could be seen.
